I wrote “Some Notes On Canvassing” to honor my sister’s political work. She works hard for local and national progressive candidates, knocking on doors, making phone calls, organizing and inspiring others to do the same. I also wanted to demystify the political work people who might be on the fence about volunteering. Much of it, the most important parts even, are as simple as “repeat[ing] a set of proper nouns” into the telephone receiver.
