"An Invitation" and "The Merry Wanderers" are both ekphrastic poems inspired by paintings (of the same name) by the artist, Andrea Kowch. In both poems I attempt to inhabit the worlds of the women in the paintings, as well as react as an observer of the art. My hope is that the contrast in perspectives will create the same kind of surrealistic / magical tone as the paintings.
