“Oswego, New York” explores what truth exists in tall tales. In the narrative of the poem, the speaker looks to make sense of herself, her childhood, and her father through her recollection of a fish story.
Christine Degenaars has work published and forthcoming in several journals, including Rattle, Nimrod, Bear Review, Cider Press Review, among others. She is the recipient of two Bishop Kelleher Awards and an honorable mention for the Bennington Award. She graduated from Hunter College with a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry and lives in New York City.
