David B. Prather received his MFA in creative writing from Warren Wilson College. His first collection, We Were Birds, is forthcoming from Main Street Rag Publishing. His poetry has appeared in Colorado Review, Seneca Review, Prairie Schooner, The American Journal of Poetry, American Literary Review, Poet Lore, and many other journals and anthologies. David lives in Parkersburg, WV.
Regarding his poetry, David shared, “When I try to craft a poem, I am often aware of social influences, the tragedies of how we destroy each other, and sometimes the tragedy of how memory affects us personally and/or culturally. I've always felt it important to memorialize those who have lost their voices in one way or another, including the many ways it affects the self.”
