These pieces are generated on opposing ends of the spectrum. “Cradle Me, Horseshoe” bubbled from a murky depth. I also make collages, I tend to think in collages, and many poems become a collage of ideas. When you have something terrible to say about humanity sometimes only strange images suffice.
Conversely, Chen Guang’s true story overtook me; an external, real-world injustice that inflamed my sense of fairness & compassion. Nowadays, such inspirations are unending.
