Max Heinegg is a high school English teacher, singer-songwriter, and brewmaster who lives with his family in Medford, MA. "One-Man Show" is about my father-in-law, who didn't know how much he loved Def Leppard. "Post Crisis, We Promise," refers to the Pink Floyd lyric, "and then one day you find / ten years have got behind you." My wife and I talk a lot about the blur of child-rearing, so the poem speaks to the idea of "waking up" and remembering to enjoy life, now and in the future.
