About “I Ask My Father to Stay Home,” Amy Meckler writes: “As a daughter who has become increasingly responsible for my parents’ care, the pandemic has taught me the angst all parents feel when children leave home and put themselves in harm’s way. My fear for my dad’s safety is matched by my empathy for his struggle watching me make myself vulnerable to a frightening world.”
