Sara Anderson is a native of Davenport, Iowa, a city on the Mississippi. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University. She writes poems about the things that haunt her, like the death of the captured orca Tilikum and the short life of jazz great (and Davenport native) Bix Beiderbecke. She lives, works, and writes in the Twin Cities.
