What and how do we remember? Which details get imagined and re-imagined with the passing of time? These two questions are central to “At a Restaurant in Portland, ME” and “Vibrato.” The former probes a painful memory, while the latter explores the pleasures of the everyday. I tried to shed light on the intimacy between the speaker and her partner—an intimacy that is delightful and full of possibility but also vulnerable.
