This poem came to me while I was doing a Google image search for an illustration I was doing of a person shooting a behind the back billiard shot and to my surprise the first image to pop up was of MLK the heroic leader of the 1960’s Civil Rights Movement taking that very shot in a Chicago pool hall in 1966, and it greatly moved and inspired me to write this poem.
