  • The maximum number of writers depends on room sharing. If no one shares a room, the maximum number of writers is 12.

  • When you are ready for direct and specific feedback about your work. You do not need a degree. You do not need publication credits. It is helpful if you have been writing poetry and consider your skills and knowledge intermediate.

  • The Highlights Foundation, yes…the familiar Highlights children’s magazine, is the organization directing the retreat center at The Barn at Boyd’s Mills. You can read more about it here.

  • Yes, and your lodging fee will be reduced. Include your roommate’s information on your registration form and you will be contacted by Highlights to adjust the balances.

  • Yes. When you register, you have the opportunity to specify your dietary preferences.

  • You will register and pay with the Highlights Foundation’s registration form. A $300 deposit will reserve your spot. All payments must be made in full on or before July 1, 2024.

  • You may travel by car, plane, or bus. Transportation to the property can be arranged with the Highlights Foundation. Please note, there is no longer transportation available from Port Jervis.

  • Robbin is fully vaccinated against COVID. Depending on the prevalence of COVID at the time of the retreat, masks may be required or may be optional.
